WILDLIFE PAINTINGS

There are moments, that are only there for a second, when you encounter a wild animal in their natural habitat and are treated to an instant of connection. These oil paintings are created in tribute to the beauty of the wild in all earth’s creatures.

CHEETAH LOVE

In 2006, I traveled to South Africa and volunteered in Cape Town with Cheetah Outreach, a non-profit conservation organization. I returned to the United States with a profound appreciation, respect, and love for Africa - its people, animals, and art.

Portraying the dignity of a Cheetah through painting is an ongoing challenge and goal of mine. I admire them for their dignity, gentle nature, impressive speed, and graceful beauty. Having had the opportunity to raise and live closely with Cheetahs in South Africa has enriched and changed my life forever. Sharing Cheetah love with others in hopes of helping to protect the wild Cheetah is a passion.

GREAT BLUE

The hunting prowess of the elegant and ancient Great Blue Heron is fascinating to me. I frequently walk around a lake where the “world’s best fishermen” can be spotted exhibiting unwavering patience as they seek their next meal. Their instantly recognizable silhouette and beautiful coloration is fun to paint in any medium. In Asian culture, the blue Great Blue Heron connects to themes of loss, contemplation, and the spiritual journey.
