Commissioning a custom work of art is an opportunity to honor a special memory. It is an exciting and rewarding experience that starts by simply contacting me and discussing your idea. People often come to me desiring to create a painting of a special moment or place they treasure and want to honor with permanence. Businesses are usually looking for regional scenes that reflect the community they operate in. In both homes and businesses, custom artwork is a powerful statement about connection and place.
Commissioned artworks are available as acrylic, oil, watercolor and pastel paintings.

COMMISSION PROCESS
The subject of your Commissioned Painting can come from a photo you have taken (which needs to be clear and easy to decipher), or I can come to the location and take my own reference photo (if it’s within a 50 mile radius of Asheville, NC).
I will need to know the size you envision for the painting. A wide range of sizes - 5 x 7” to 30 x 40” or even larger depending on the medium - are available.
You can choose Watercolor, Pastel, Oil or Acrylic as the medium for your painting. Watercolor paintings are size limited - 5 x 7” to 11 x 14”. Pastels are best in the mid-range sizes - no larger than 18 x 24”. Oil is preferrable for large formats. Acrylics are good for any size and offer quick-dry timing.
Background images for special text such as poetry, or invitations are a popular commission request. They are usually created with watercolors and lettering is an option. I provide samples upon request.
Your Commissioned Painting comes with a Certificate of Authentication.
Pricing is dependent on the style and size of the piece. A 50% deposit is required for work to begin.
